With just months to go until Producer & Roaster Forum (PRF) 2020, Perfect Daily Grind would like to take the opportunity to thank our generous sponsors.
PRF is designed to facilitate strong long-term relationships between roasters and producers, and sponsorship supports us in this. It enables us to enact some of our most important initiatives, such as the Producer Scholarship Program and the Origin Trip Experience.

One of the most important events held in coffee-producing countries, PRF is a two-day forum with a timetable packed full of discussion panels, educational talks, and workshops. For international roasters, the three-day Origin Trip Experience is an optional add-on that will allow them to stay with producers and visit their farms and mills.
The event changes location every year to ensure maximum impact, and will be coming to Copán, Honduras on the 26th and 27th of March 2020. It is estimated that the local economy will experience a boost of US $10 million as a result of this year’s event.
Attendance at PRF grew by 217% at the last event, and over 1,000 attendees are projected for 2020. 90% of international attendees at the last three events were decision-makers in their company, and nearly one-third of presentations will be about market trends across the globe. It is a valuable opportunity for networking, business development, and market insight.
The generous support of our sponsorship means that we can increase the impact of our event year on year. Over 175 producers will attend the fourth edition of the event and receive pre-event training on networking and negotiating as part of the Producer Scholarship Programme.
All Producer Sponsors support 15 producers in attending the event and training. Additionally, as our Diamond Sponsor, Mayorga Organics’ backing enables 30 select producers – the Mayorga Scholars – to receive all the benefits of the Producer Sponsorship in addition to free accommodation and board.
Mayorga Organic’s purpose is eliminating systemic poverty and chronic hunger in Latin America through direct trade relationships. Founder and President Martin Mayorga says, “Having started Mayorga in 1996 to support small farmers, I’ve always believed that engagement from roasters into coffee-producing countries would be the only way to make a material shift in the inequities that are an unfortunate hallmark of the industry. We’re incredibly excited to be part of the upcoming Producer & Roaster Forum in Honduras to see that continued momentum toward real relationships between roasters and producers.”
Meanwhile, the support of our Host Sponsors will make our Origin Trip Experience a reality. This optional add-on to PRF sees roasters visiting coffee farms and learning more about production in the region. It is fundamental to building strong, lasting, and genuine business relationships.
Henry Wilson, Founder of Producer & Roaster Forum, says, “Sponsorships enables us to scale the impact of the event through growing the number of participants, the activities offered, and providing funds to be invested in creative initiatives that will empower small-holder producers. Our aim is for PRF to be a profitable objective platform, and having a wide range of multi-stakeholder sponsors involved who share our mission enables us to do so.”
